UP BOX / Extruder stopped extruding halfway through print
« Last post by brypar on April 07, 2016, 07:42:09 AM »
I woke up this morning to see that the extruder had stopped extruding. At first I thought I had run out of filament but this wasn't the case. The printer is brand new (1 day old) and successfully printed 2 earlier items. The print time was 15 hours.

Any ideas? Long shot, but can the print be started where it stopped even though it ran for over an hour printing nothing?
UP BOX / Vertical Axis motor slip
« Last post by abear on March 16, 2016, 01:44:55 PM »
Hi Support,

My UPBox has just developed a Vertical axis issue.
After a platform level calibration, the bed rises slowly to auto height detect. This all works fine.
I then start a print and the bed rises rapidly, but makes a grinding noise for a short period as the bed rises, the print then starts about 1 to 2 inches short of the print bed.

I haven't looked behind the panel that houses the vertical axis motor, so I don't know how it's driven, but it sounds like a belt slipping.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UP Mini / Up mini randomly stops feeding during prints
« Last post by craig on January 29, 2016, 05:22:44 PM »
Hi all,

I brought an Up Mini last year and gradually learning all the little tricks involved in getting a somewhat successful print. Clearly a lot more than uploading, press print and there you go!

I hadn't been using my printer for a while, so when it came to doing so the other day I made sure I did a few extrusions, swapped out the extruder (I have a spare) and cleaned the drive gear on the head stepper.

Annoyingly, and it seems for no apparent reason, at varying times throughout each print I try, the head will stop feeding plastic and continue to "print air." Obviously, there is no way to know or stop the print once this occurs, so I've ended up with lots of half prints.....

It is not intermittent, when it stops, it stops for good. Once I reset the power and re-initialize it it goes back to feeding happily again.

I stress again, the machine continues to operate, but once stopped does not feed any more filament......

The stepper appears to be working fine (withdraws and extrudes normally) and the filament is not stuck on the spool (I have rewound it just to make sure).

Has anyone else come across this? I've got some new filament and a new extruder stepper coming, but I'm not convinced this will fix the problem.

Any thoughts? I'm getting desperate.......

Software / Re: How do I see the actual support structures on print preview?
« Last post by Vialo on January 22, 2016, 04:24:48 PM »
1. I try to see the support material and structures the software automatically introduces.

2. Where can I force the printer not to add any material?
'Base only' in the print preferences 'Area' only prevents support material but allows the software to create a solid mesh where it assumes a suspended object is.

Software / Up software not loading anymore
« Last post by ccidesign on November 03, 2015, 01:24:38 PM »
Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but its not affecting my workload.
My up software will not load correctly since yesterday afternoon, my system hasn't changed at all but all of a sudden the up software starts and doesn't show the build platform, it wont connect or communicate with the printer in any way.

Can someone help...? I have tried, restarts, reconnects and re installation. None of which have made any difference.

I wanted to upload a screen shot of what I see but the attachment thing on here keeps saying it can't find the image.
