Photo2Mesh software settings:The most important settings are Z height & Mesh height.
- Z Height: 1.5
- Mesh Height: 2.5
- Ensure Invert mesh is selected.
- X & Y samples: 250 seems to be a good start.
For photos with less contrast & more detail, pick 300.
Note: any more seems unnecessary & in some cases worse due to lowered light transmission.
UP printer quality settings:Ensure your orientation is set such that the photo is printed vertically on its thin side edge
NOT flat straight, else it will fail. It also pays to position such that the layers are perpendicular to the ground. I.E. if its portrait photo, print on its longer side down, landscapes print on shorter side down.
- Resolution: 0.15 is best but often not necessary if you set the contrast correctly.
0.25 (250 micron) works better in a way because it hides certain unnecessary details & improves light transmission. - Fill: Tick 'Shell' mode
- Speed: Normal
Slower can help sometimes, but faster causes it to leave more gaps in the mesh layers.
