Platen not getting and staying at temp
« on: August 08, 2014, 05:18:58 AM »
I am having a problem where the platen heater temp is to low and erratic.

I have a thermo-couple down on the platform in the hole where the thermistor is next to the cartridge heater.

It warms up to 104C (printer value), 100 (thermo-couple value) and then drops to 98C-103C and hunts around those values on each sample.

No idea yet what is going on.

I'm having a similar problem. The software reads 100deg C for my platform but when I test the platform with a Laser Temperature Sensor the highest temp I get on the platform is 83degs C.
Would love to know what's going on here. This could be the very reason why the majority of my prints fail in some way.
